Swansea PRIDE is dancing its way into Quadrant Shopping Centre, as part of the week-long celebrations and will be launching a Pump it with Pride campaign.
Taking place on Wednesday 1 May through Friday 3 May, hula hoop sensation, Angie Mack will be swinging her hips and hitting the centre to run a series of demonstrations and workshops, showcasing to shoppers not only how much fun hula hooping can be but also the incredible health and well-being benefits it brings.
Quadrant’s Pump it with Pride initiative is also supporting the wider focus of this year’s Swansea PRIDE by promoting the incredible help that is available to members of the local LGBT community who may be struggling. Alongside the work-out sessions, a dedicated team of local support specialists will be available for anyone wishing to seek advice and guidance.
Angie will be running three sessions a day, running at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, and will be armed with a stack of hoops to encourage people to get up on their feet and have a go at this unlikely sport, which not only increases core strength but also helps flexibility.
Lisa Hartley, Quadrant Shopping Centre manager, said: “This year’s Swansea PRIDE is going to be an incredible celebration across the city, and we are thrilled to be a part of the week’s activities. Hula hooping is a great way to bring everyone together and is a very creative way in which to exercise. I’m sure Angie will bring boundless energy and vibrancy to the centre and will have customers participating moving their hips in no time.
“Quadrant sits at the heart of the city and as a shopping hub we are inclusive to everyone in our community and we’re very excited to have the opportunity to help drive awareness as well as throw our full support behind this wonderful cause.”
